Pumpkin season begins
The American Canyon 4-H team holds a pumpkin sale on Saturday and Sunday, 10 to 2 p.m., at 2 Eucalyptus Drive. All proceeds go towards 4-H projects.
The American Canyon Arts Foundation will host its annual pumpkin painting at Wetlands Edge Park from 10 to 2 p.m. on Saturday. They will provide painting materials, and participants can then add their pumpkins to a display lining the Wetlands trail.
At Phillip West Aquatic Center, pool and pumpkins will be the theme of the day, from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, with pumpkin decorating, games, a floating pumpkin patch and snacks.
Job Fair at NVC
Napa Valley College’s Career Center hosts a job fair 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 2, at Performing Arts Center, Building 100. Sponsors are Redwood Credit Union, Napa County Committee on Disabilities, and Napa Valley College. For information, contact career.center@napavalley.edu.
Walk and Roll to School Day
American Canyon High School and Middle School are taking part in the Walk and Roll to School Day on Wednesday, Oct. 8. It’s organized by Napa County Safer Routes to School and the Napa County Bicycle Coalition to encourage students to walk, bike or roll to school as part of a healthy and active lifestyle.

American Canyon flu vaccine clinic
Napa County’s Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) will offer seasonal flu vaccination clinics across Napa County, as supply allows.
The American Canyon clinic is Wednesday, Oct. 8, at American Canyon Middle School, 300 Benton Way, from 3 to 6 p.m.
Flu vaccinations are available to all ages 6 months and older. Also available is a limited supply of flu mist (ages 2-49) and high-dose flu vaccines (ages 65 and up).
Tdap(tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis) vaccinations are available to ages 11 and up.
COVID-19 vaccinations are available to children ages 12-18 who are uninsured, have Medi-Cal or are American Indian or Alaskan Native under the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program. For additional information on COVID-19 vaccine availability contact HHSA at 707-253-4279.
Parents must be present for all minors receiving vaccines.
Napa County strongly recommend everyone ages 6 months and older stay up to date on flu and COVID-19 vaccines.

Manila Munchies — Global Pinoy
Friendors Inc., a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, hosts a celebration of Filipino American History Month on Saturday, Oct. 11, from 3 to 9 p.m. at Shenandoah Park, 100 Sonoma Creek Way.
Manila Munchies – Global Pinoy will raise funds to launch a Filipino Club at American Canyon Middle School and to support the existing club at American Canyon High School
The organizers said this year’s theme, Global Pinoy, “highlights the beauty of fusion and bringing cultures together through food, arts, merchandise and entertainment. It’s all about collaboration, community, and celebrating Filipino heritage in a global context.”
The city of American Canyon will issue a proclamation recognizing Filipino American History Month. on Oct. 7, at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall.
Mentis Youth Mental Health Festival
Mentis, the Napa County nonprofit mental health organization, has rescheduled its Youth Mental Health Festival for Saturday, Oct. 18, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Mentis Wellness Campus in Napa.
The free community gathering is for youth ages 12 to 19 and serves as reminder of the importance of connection.
In collaboration with more than 20 local organizations, the event will offer teens a lively, hands-on afternoon designed to nurture emotional wellness, encourage self-expression and celebrate the season of growth and renewal.
Featured activities are grounded in mental health and include bracelet making, button making, art stations, aromatherapy, comfort dogs, movement activities and nature journaling.

Okee Dokee Brothers in Yountville
E&M Presents is hosting a performance from the Okee Dokee Brothers on Sunday, Oct. 19, at 11 a.m. at the Yountville Community Center.
The Grammy award-winning Okee Dokee Brothers (Justin Lansing and Joe Mailander) grew up exploring the great outdoors of Colorado and have channeled that adventurous nature into their popular albums –– Can You Canoe?, Through the Woods, Saddle Up, Songs for Singin’ and Winterland.
The duo can be seen in their new PBS Kids’ animated feature, Brambletown, about a community of critters interconnecting through the healing power of nature. The message to families with kids is to go outside, get creative and sing in harmony along the way.
