Dos Botellas to celebrate opening of full bar

Dos Botellas will celebrate the opening of their full bar tonight, Friday, Dec. 5, making it American Canyon’s fourth full cocktail bar. The opening starts at 7 p.m., with cocktails and music by a local singer who will perform classic tunes in Spanish and English.
Dos Botellas is open 8 a.m.-9 p.m. for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They serve up fresh Mexican cuisine like tacos and chilaquiles alongside American staples like waffles and burgers. The bar features an array of high-end tequilas, wine and beer.
On most days, Angelica Manriquez is on the floor, greeting regulars and taking orders. Originally from Mexico, Manriquez has been living in American Canyon for 25 years. She’s a veteran bartender and waitress, and worked at Los Cantaros, which occupied the site before closing during the Covid-19 pandemic.
In 2021, Manriquez struck out on her own, opening up Dos Botellas. Now, she’s excited to push the business into new territory.
“We do have a few drinks on the menu,” said Manriquez a few days before the opening. “But we didn’t have a place to make it.”
Bar hours will be a little different from restaurant hours, open only on the weekends. “We will start with two to three days a week,” Manriquez said. “As soon as we start getting busy, we will hire someone full time.”

Since winter is usually slow for American Canyon restaurants, Manriquez figured it would be a good time to experiment with the addition of a bar. And, it’s a family affair: Manriquez’s daughter is creating the cocktail menu.
Business has been OK so far, she said. “Mostly locals, American Canyon residents. It’s busy when there’s an event in Napa and Vallejo — like La Onda festival in Napa, and Bottlerock.”
Manriquez expects to see more people in the door with a full bar opening. “A lot of people want to come, drink a beer, and leave,” she said.
Dos Botellas’ full bar opening party is Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. at 3427 Broadway F1.
