“Rock the Congress Napa Valley” returns to Napa on Saturday, April 11. The event will gather hundreds of local activists, community organizers and nonprofit leaders to launch a coordinated strategy for the upcoming midterm elections.

The organizing committee includes leaders from Indivisible and the Napa community who originally formed the group to address the urgent need for civic engagement. Following a highly successful regional conference in 2018, they are reconvening to host this one-day event at CIA-Copia. The conference is designed to give attendees the skills and inter-organizational connections necessary to build a robust, effective progressive movement in Northern California.

“Rock the Congress 2026 is about equipping activists with the tools, strategy and collective power needed to meet this defining moment. Winning back the House in 2026 is essential to protecting our democracy and restoring accountability in Washington,” said Valerie O’Pry, lead organizer for the event and Indivisible Napa co-founder.

“It is the most effective way to check the Republican agenda — from devastating ICE raids, to attacks on our social safety net, healthcare and civil rights.”

Rock the Congress began in 2018 with a goal of strengthening organizing capacity to win elections. The inaugural Bay Area conference drew more than 300 activists. This year’s revival aims to replicate that energy by focusing on alignment and solidarity among a variety of local organizations. The event will also foster multigenerational collaboration, with scholarship tickets available to encourage student involvement.

The April conference agenda is designed to maximize collective impact. Participants will hear from keynote speakers Congressman Mike Thompson and Sunjay Muralitharan, former president of College Democrats of America.

Panel discussions and breakout training sessions will cover topics including “How to Run for Office 101,” “Telling Truth from Tale in the Age of AI,” “Burn Bright, Not Out” and many more. The event will also provide planning sessions to develop a cross-organizational action plan for the 2026 midterms as well as networking opportunities with Bay Area activists and organizations.

The conference will take place on Saturday, April 11 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Registration begins at 8 a.m. at CIA-Copia at Oxbow Market, located at 500 First St., Napa.
