American Canyon Road Construction Update for June

The city has four active street construction projects that are ready to go or already happening in June. Two major aspects of the work are repairing old drain and sewer systems and repaving streets and sidewalks in those deteriorated areas. The following is an overview of the city’s updates regarding each of these projects. All projects are part of the city’s current Capital Improvement Program.

Knightsbridge Way

This week, June 16-20, the work follows Knightsbridge Way and the cul-de-sacs and includes a lane closure of Elliott Drive to Danrose Drive, which will have traffic flaggers. This is the final phase of the project, by the end of this week the city will have completed rehabilitating pavement in the area, and will finish hydroseeding their staging yard on Chaucer.

Melvin Road

The project on Melvin Road is an effort to improve the road’s storm drains, which will in turn lead to new curb, gutter, and sidewalk improvements for the area. This week, construction moves towards the intersection of Poco Way and Melvin Road. The current work boils down to excavation and grading which is being done in preparation of repavement along Melvin Road between Poco Way and Cassayre Drive.

Rancho del Mar

The project involves reconstructing the water system in the area, and it spans the following roads: Rio del Mar, Los Altos, Cassayre Drive, Flamingo Court, Del Rey Court, Alta Loma Drive, Joan Drive      and Carolyn Drive. As of now, the city aims to complete its sewer work by the end of June      and will begin working on any disrupted pavement immediately afterwards, during the first week of July.

Theresa Avenue

This project will be another one of the city’s efforts to replace old sewer mains      and is projected to break ground on the week of June 16. The construction will close off parking on the east side of Theresa Avenue      and require temporary lane closures while workers are present. Starting in front of Valley View Senior Homes, the construction will move north along Theresa Ave until intersecting with Napa Junction Road.
