Police brief: After high-speed chase, two arrested for construction site burglary

On Thursday, American Canyon Police arrested two suspects who stole $90,000 worth of what Chief Rick Greenberg called “a variety of tools and supplies” from a construction site on Hess Hill.
Around midnight Dec. 4, a security team alerted American Canyon Police to a robbery in progress on Hess Hill. Shortly after, officers arrived as two vehicles carrying the suspects were leaving the scene. A chase ensued, with both cars driving south toward Vallejo. The first car, which held two suspects, veered off of the westbound side of Highway 37 into marshland, where a 27-year-old East Palo Alto woman was apprehended after fleeing the car on foot.
Notably, a second occupant also fled the vehicle, but evaded officers. Chief Greenberg told the Current that there are currently “no leads on it,” and that they have no details about the individual.
The second car continued south in a high speed chase that ended in East Oakland, where the driver fled the car on foot. Officers soon located and arrested the 32-year-old Redwood City man who had been driving the car.
According to a press release from the American Canyon Police, both suspects were booked in Napa County Department of Corrections that morning on multiple charges. Sheriff booking logs show that the 27-year-old East Palo Alto woman was released around noon Thursday. However, booking logs do not reflect the status of the 32-year-old Redwood City man.
