Napa Junction, what’s your function?

Schoolhouse Rock

This week, the city will host its final Meet me in the Street event on Wednesday, Aug. 13. The city will host dozens of food and street vendors, and musicians and entertainers, and bring in cool cars with cool people from all across the county and beyond. Don’t miss it, and if you feel like helping out, email valerie@amcanchamber.org to sign up for volunteer opportunities before the event.

On Tuesday, Aug. 12, there will be a back-to-school data entry event at Napa Junction Elementary School from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. In the spirit of finishing data confirmation in the Aeries portal before Wednesday, there will be food trucks, a resource fair, a book fair and much more.

Speaking of school, GO WOLVES! School officially resumes this Wednesday, so we put together a brief list of useful information for everyone going back, you can find that here.

There is one city meeting this week. On Thursday night at 6:30 p.m., the Parks and Recreation commission is holding their monthly meeting at City Hall. The commission will go over its annual work plan and its policy regarding the city’s community grant program.

Next week, the One Ten Restaurant & Bar is holding a Wine & Wild night from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 17. Next Tuesday at 6:30 p.m, the Fire Protection Board has a public meeting at City Hall. Finally, on Saturday, Aug. 23, there will be a skate park clean-up day from 9 a.m. to noon.

(This is a second-attempt at adding Useless Newsletter Trivia; bear with me again. Here’s this week’s question: “Conjunction Junction” is one of the most popular songs from the educational TV series “Schoolhouse Rock”, so knuckleheads, what are the three conjunctions that shape the chorus of this song? Answer on Thursday’s newsletter.)

That’s it for this week, next week be sure to look out for another useless trivia question.
