Let’s get started with some food.
Kick off this week with Pizza and Painting at Shenandoah Park this Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. High schoolers ages 14-17 can come chill, paint some things and most importantly, eat pizza. Make sure to register ahead of time at americancanyon.gov/recreation.
Look out for more pool entertainment this Friday and Saturday. On Friday from 1:30 to 4 p.m., Phillip West Aquatic Center will be hosting a free family swim day. Take the time to get out, splash around and have fun with the rest of your community. All community pool fees will be covered, thanks to the efforts of District 5 County Supervisor Belia Ramos.
On Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. the Aquatic Center is hosting their annual Water Carnival. That event costs $10 for residents and $12 for non-residents, and will feature water games, prize giveaways and, of course, swim time!
Do you hear that? There always seems to be music at the DoubleTree. This Friday from 6:30 to 9 p.m., check out the O’hara Brothers, and on Friday you can see Aldon Smith and his ukulele. These performances are part of the venue’s Summer of Entertainment.
Shred, baby, shred. The city is hosting a paper shredding event for residential documents on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at the City Hall parking lot. Exclusive to American Canyon residents, this is your chance to safely get rid of any cluttered up old paper you might have.
Next week, the city is National Night out! On Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m., residents will be hosting block parties across the town. City officials, as well as members from the police staff and fire department, plan on joining in on the festivities. If you want to host something in your neighborhood, visit www.americancanyon.gov/NNO to sign up, the deadline is TODAY, Monday, July 28, at 5 p.m.
